IT Strategic Management involves a combination of IT business acumen, execution, and leadership in order to ensure that a disparate group of stakeholders are being engaged efficiently, and focused on the desired business result. ITSM applies effective people, process, and technology strategies within the IT organization focused on aligning with and serving the mission of the business community at large.

Technology Lifecycle Management

Technology lifecycle management is the complete management of a company’s technology assets through all six stages of their lifecycle—planning, acquisition, deployment, management, support, and disposition. The implementation of each phase should be based on a solid evaluation of the organization’s IT management processes. By first assessing how resources are administered, integrated process flows can be put into practice that allow IT managers to better utilize software tools. The process flows tie lifecycle events across all six stages to achieve cost-effective, efficient management of all resources.
